Project Brief |
Accurate and precise reporting can do wonders especially in the areas where environmental issues and problems are always sacrificed in the name of development or other priorities like culture and politics. Baluchistan, being area wise the biggest province of our country, enriched with natural reserves and sources has always been deprived of commitment from media that could portray and advocate the existing environmental dilemmas of the province among the masses within the province and in the country. Result of this neglect is that the mineral rich and resources abundant province lacks ownership from concerned stakeholders and public on these issues. The workshop has been designed to build the capacities of a group of journalists from within the province who are involved in environmental reporting or have no prior experience in environmental writing/ reporting. The workshop will enlighten and expose the group with tools and techniques essentially needed for accurate and efficient environmental reporting. This can even initiate and promote environment lobby that could be helpful in conserving the natural reserves of the province. |
