Mentor

Dr Nuzhat Lotia has completed her PhD in Management at the University of Melbourne.  In addition to her academic training in research, Dr Lotia has worked in the NGO sector in various capacities.  Since completing her PhD, she has been working with a Melbourne based NGO working with Muslim with a research and capacity building focus. At the same time she also teaches at the University of Melbourne.  Her last job in Pakistan was with the Multi-Donor Support Unit at the World Bank on the Participatory Development Programme where she was involved in providing technical assistance to the Government of Pakistan in developing a programme for forging NGO and government partnerships.  An aspect of her work was to help build the government capacity to seek and evaluate project proposals.  Dr Lotia is part of a group of like-minded people who have been instrumental in setting up a national level NGO, Cavish Development Foundation, facilitating the empowerment of deprived communities.  As a founding and board member of Cavish, she has been involved in developing its vision and direction and has also done some handson work in developing proposals for submission to donors.  She has also served as Manager Funding and Communications at ACTIONAID where her responsibilities included developing proposals seeking funds for the organisation. In addition to this, her extensive training at various levels has been put to use during her teaching experience at Quaid-e-Azam and University of Melbourne. Dr Lotia has served as the mentor for the previous distance-learning courses on Writing Project Proposals conducted by LEAD Pakistan.
 

Co Mentor

 

Sobia Umer Faisal is Young Professional officer, Training Unit at LEAD Pakistan. Her major responsibilities are to assist the Training Unit in designing, initiate, coordinating the implementing training programs with the objective of ensuring consistency between program and training objectives at both Head Office and Project Levels. Previously she was working with SAHIL as program officer trainings. She did her Masters in Anthropology.

 
Muhammad Yousaf Hussain is working as Incharge Helpdesk-ICT Section at LEAD Pakistan where he plans, Implements, administers and Controls the operating effectiveness of information technology systems and arranges systems maintenance and enhancements to meet user requirements. His responsibilities include implementing and reviewing activities for Quality Management System (ISO 9001-2000) for ICT section, LEAD Pakistan.
He is proficient in web design and Development including distance-learning programs where he manages the technical aspects related to website. Previously he has done many projects of web development for LEAD Pakistan and other organizations.
