Expression of Interest : Climate Leadership for Effective Adaptation and Resilience (CLEAR)

CLEAR project is a 5 years initiative of LEAD Pakistan focusing on Climate Change impacts on the lives of poor people and farmers in Southern Sindh and Punjab and streamline their local climate adaptation practices and develop district based Local Adaptation Plans of Actions. LEAD Pakistan intends to implement project activities through local Civil Society Organizations. Climate Leadership for Effective Adaptation and Resilience (CLEAR) project was conceived through a participatory approach of LEAD Pakistan to address the urgent and growing threats of climate change to poor and vulnerable communities in Punjab and Sindh provinces in Pakistan. The project addresses lack of capacity, lack of effective models, low and ineffectively articulated public demand for the Govt. to act, and a lack of awareness among vulnerable communities as to their rights in relation to climate change.  CLEAR Project is not only empowering communities to practice climate change adaptation but also promoting a bottom-up approach for people friendly policy making. The project enables communities to implement climate adaptive technologies (mobile flood warning systems) and facilitate increased knowledge for adaptation (changing cropping patterns, under-water water reservoirs), introduction of alternative livelihoods, particularly for women and other vulnerable groups (poultry farming, livestock farming etc.). In this regard LEAD Pakistan is soliciting Expression of Interest - II from Local based Non-Governmental Organizations, Community Based Organizations and other CSOs registered under any law of Pakistan. Interested Organizations are requested to send their profile and nominated Master Trainer’s details for this project (One master Trainer per organization) on the prescribed format available below as CSOs Template and send to hkiani@lead.org.pk and azeb@lead.org.pk Expression of Interest must be received by 31st Jan 2012.  Organizations that have already applied need not re-apply.
