Empowering Women for Growth & Prosperity: From Evidence to Policy

Global rankings on gender disparities puts Pakistan among the worst in the world and significantly lagging regional peers like India and Bangladesh. Hence greater female participation in economic activity will undoubtedly contribute to the country’s quest for more sustainable and inclusive economic development. Realizing this goal requires bridging knowledge gaps on barriers to and enablers of women’s economic empowerment and implementing interventions that work. To facilitate this, our convening will bring together Pakistan’s foremost researchers and policymakers grappling with various aspects of women’s economic empowerment. Primary objectives are to:

  • Deliver high quality, evidence-based insights on key policy topics fundamental to achieving women’s economic empowerment in Pakistan.
  • Begin establishing a network of policy researchers, thought leaders and policymakers focused on key facets of empowering women for economic growth and shared prosperity.
  • Identify concrete policy action plans in partnership with policymakers and design research agendas for bridging existing evidence gaps.

For registration, kindly send your name, organisation, city and contact number to info@lead.org.pk. The deadline for registration is February 06, 2018.
