Participants
The
Climate Change Media Partnership invited 40 journalists from
developing countries to Copenhagen to cover the negotiations, giving
them a chance to report on these important talks and training them
on climate change issues at both the regional and global level. They
are now willing to provide trainers/editors to come to Pakistan to
train journalists here. The idea is to invite around 12 journalists
from India. The remaining journalists will be invited from all over
Pakistan, but they will be senior/mainstream journalists, most of
whom have some interest/experience in environmental reporting. They
will be a mix of print and electronic journalists (from all the
prominent media houses) and some will be invited from the Urdu
press.
LEAD-Pakistan, a premium training and capacity building institute in
the country possessing many years of experience in hosting and
facilitating training workshops, has agreed to organize the three
day workshop for the sensitization of journalists on climate change
issues, especially across borders.
