Voicing Issues of Human Rights Victims in Pakistan

Objectives

The proposed project is an innovative means to raise awareness about human rights in Pakistan by creating an interactive link between public leaders and victims of human rights violations by having such leaders directly interact with human rights victims in their communities to learn of their plight, concerns and issues. These leaders will then advocate the issues highlighted to strengthen human rights mechanisms in the country.

The main purpose of such an interaction and resulting advocacy is to promote and strengthen national human rights policies through raising the concerns of such victims and initiating a debate on the human rights issues to positively influence human rights policy in Pakistan.

  • Raise awareness of human rights issues among leaders, policy makers and the public.

  • Empower human rights victims (especially from poor and marginalized communities) by raising their voices and concerns among the public, media and policy makers.

  • Strengthen national human rights policies in Pakistan through putting forth focused policy recommendations. Strengthening human rights mechanisms in Pakistan.
