It was also get enrolled with Federal Ministry of Culture, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Pakistan with the enrollment No.F-10-/2002-NP, Dated:11-01-2003.

It’s Struggle for welfare and development of the people of Sindh, Pakistan started from grass root level lasted over a period of more than two decades, carrying the concept that with the spirit of service, sincerity and devotion can bring change in the social status of the people. This is a local organization, working with the local people, local practices understanding of the local culture and customs.

This organization started from a village Aghamani of Tehsil Mehar, District Dadu in the year 1987 with the name “Goth Sudhar Sangat (GSS). After 19 years of development work in the area in the year 2003 a General Body of the organization approved and modified the organization name as “Initiative for Community Empowerment Foundation” (ICEF) due to enhancing scope of work and area. It was re-registered in the year 2003 under the act of voluntary social welfare agencies (Registration and control) ordinance 1961 and received registration Certificate with the registration registration No. F-DO (SW) (CDD) Dadu/VA/14 of 2003, Dated: 12th September, 2003.

ICEF last several years working on advocacy. Mobilization ,capacity building and understanding has developed into multifunctional organization having the extensive program coverage in different fields of life such as Reproductive Health Services, Family Planning, Basic Health Education, non-formal education, HIV/AIDS, Social mobilization about electoral process, women rights and women empowerment such as income generation activities in agriculture, Safe Drinking Water & hygiene Promotion, Mothers and Newborns Health including support in livestock management, basic education and infrastructures.

ICEF got support from various supporting governmental and non governmental organizations such as Trust For Voluntary Organizations (TVO), NATPOW, Pakistan Baitul Mal (PBM), Pakistan National AIDS Consortium (PNAC), PAIMAN-USAID, Abt Associates-USAID, UNDP focusing on electoral process, Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan-LJCP, Decentralization Support Programme-DSP-Finance Department Government of Pakistan SBB Low Cost Housing Program Government of Sindh, Planning and Development Department Government of Sindh, UNDP , CIDA –Canadian International Development Agency , USAID-The Asia Foundation and UNOPS.

Trust for Conservation of Coastal Resources is the first ever conservation organization established by indigenous women of fishing community in Pakistan. The women leadership is determined to strive for conservation of coastal natural resources. TCCR has been working from the platform of the Pakistan Mahigeer Tehreek (PMT) a rights-based movement since 2004. The organization was registered as a Trust for Conservation of Coastal Resources (TCCR) in 2007. The PMT is an advocacy forum for the rights of the fishing community, and the TCCR focuses on capacity building of local men and women, towards conservation of natural resources. Recognizing the value of local indigenous knowledge the TCCR is committed to preserve this wisdom and find solutions to the increasing threat of Climate Change with participation of local communities.
