LEAD
Pakistan and Climate Change Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) is a premier and an internationally recognized non-profit organization, working to create and sustain a global network of leaders committed to promote change towards patterns of economic development that are environmentally sustainable and socially equitable. LEAD Pakistan, one of the 14 member programs of LEAD, was created in 1995 with the purpose to solely bring the Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) program - an innovative capacity building initiative—to Pakistan. However, it has grown into one of the most dynamic LEAD Member Programs in the world. LEAD Pakistan has been working on the promotion of environmentally sensitive development since its inception. LEAD Pakistan firmly believes that serious and immediate actions need to be taken by a wide range of stakeholders to fully understand and respond to the grave impacts of climate change, requiring a realignment of Pakistan’s commitment towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In collaboration with its family of LEAD programs across the global LEAD Network, LEAD Pakistan is in the process of designing a multi-year Climate Action Program (L-CAP) to help Pakistan tackle the looming challenge of Climate Change.
