Brief Description

LEAD Pakistan is working on a one-year project, in collaboration with Pan International Pakistan, with the aim of building capacities of community groups, and enabling them to run the Community Based Organization for the community development of their respective villages. Besides that, after the capacity building of community groups, the same will be registered with the District Government Vehari.

Project Objectives

The objective of the project is to empower individuals and groups of people by providing them with the skills they need to effect change in their own communities. The project is to facilitate the community forums into a formalized structure i.e. Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and their capacity development for proposal writing, financial and proposal management through a process involving, research and assessment of the current capacities of these community forums and other stakeholders and identification of gaps. These skills will concentrate in aiming to achieve, through collective effort, a better life through the formation of social groups working for a common agenda.
 

Project Targets

·     Registration of 15 community groups as CBOs with the Community Development Department, Government of Punjab - under social welfare ordinance.

·     Conduct 24 training sessions on four training modules focusing on core competencies, and functional competencies of 15 CBOs office bearers including, women and children - these sessions will cover the total number of 1080 trainings participants.

·     Making CBOs able to develop project proposals for the community development and floating 15 project proposals to different donors.

·     Development of four case studies and two success stories.
