Training Sessions

In Leadership Development Program, LEAD provides regional and international training at which participants focus on solving complex problems related to environment and sustainable development.  The duration of the sessions are as follows:

  • Orientation Session     (Duration: Five Days)

  • Four National Training Sessions     (Duration: Seven Days each)

  • International Graduation Session     (Duration: Seven Days)

All the four Regional Training Sessions along with the Orientation Session are based on a specialized and evolving curriculum.

Orientation Training Session (OTS)

The State of Environment in Pakistan (23-27 April 2005)

The OTS is designed as an introduction to the LEAD program and its proposed curriculum. It provides an opportunity to the newly selected Associates to acquaint themselves with each other, LEAD staff, its philosophy, the proposed curriculum, code of conduct and policies and guidelines. It is used to deliver preliminary training modules on teambuilding and leadership, which are built upon in later sessions. The OTS lays the foundation for future sessions by enabling Associates to develop, at least at a very basic level, a more holistic approach, and to move beyond a simple awareness of current environmental problems to becoming active promoters of sustainable solutions.  (click here to view OTS website)

First National Training Session

Multilateral Environment Agreements - First Regional Training Session (24-30 July 2005)

The training session held in Peshawar, focused on Pakistan’s global commitments under various Multilateral Environmental Agreements, and reviewed the compliance status. Experts were drawn from a cross-section with a requisite knowledge base as well as insight on linkages and areas of action in their respective fields of expertise and professional background.The Associates were given an opportunity to conduct a detail analysis of the individual MEAs such as the Montreal Protocol, the Kyoto Protocol, United Nation’s convention to combat desertification, Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and their possible impacts on relevant business sectors/industries. In addition, the real life case examples also allowed them to asses the compliance status of the respective convention and its linkage with the project. The idea was to allow the Associates to discover and suggest the most effective and efficient ways to utilize the resources that are locally available. For further details visit the link below;
