Board of Governors
LEAD Board is drawn from various
sectors/regions and the members
are selected in recognition of
their contribution for
forwarding the sustainable
development agenda. Each member
lends a unique strength to the
board. It is deeply committed to
transparency and all members
collectively ensure that the
management is held accountable
by offering effective governance
– setting up LEAD policies,
monitoring its operations,
ensuring financial transparency,
fundraising, and the
institutions’ advocacy.
A high level of collegiality exists amongst all the board members - all decisions are made with consensus after frank and open deliberations. The board adheres to highest ethical values and expects the same from the management. It is very particular about the conflict-of-interest situations.
Each member serves for one renewable term of three years. Secretary Environment and Vice Chancellor of LUMS are ex-officio board members. All other members serve in their personal capacity. It is a sovereign board that was never over or under involved in the organization’s affairs – it has met 44 times since LEAD’s inception, excluding special meetings.
The board members’ contribution has been an enriching and rewarding experience for the organization.
