Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) Pakistan

Road to Sustainability

Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, CEO LEAD Pakistan

We have crossed our 20th milestone on the road to sustainability. I feel great pleasure to felicitate all the team members who are currently with us or who have been part of this journey during these 20 eventful years.

The 20th year was very exciting in many ways. We successfully delivered some very high profile outputs, implemented innovative projects, developed new partnerships and above all gathered LEAD Fellows in Islamabad to mark the event. LEAD has already transformed in many ways and is poised to assume the role of a think tank. It has expanded exponentially both in size as well as scope - from a staff of three to over 100 in several thematic areas. However, 2015 brought new challenges. Like any dynamic organization, we are determined to use this opportunity to be even more dynamic and robust and further strengthen our engagement with our stakeholders. We are ready to play our leadership role in setting a progressive, forward looking development agenda at national, regional and international levels. We are engaged in shaping the post 2015 agenda for climate compatible development that is socially responsible and economically equitable.

I thank all our fellows, partners, colleagues and well-wishers who extended their kind support in the two decades of leadership development in Pakistan. Their encouragement strengthens our conviction to carry on our efforts for making sustainable development a reality in Pakistan's challenging social, economic and cultural environment. LEAD wishes to learn, reflect and grow in the years to come. We are open to fresh ideas and new partnerships to achieve shared goals across regions, sectors and organizations.

Kind regards and thank you very much, once again, for your commitment to the vision and mission of LEAD and the impact you are making in areas of your interest.
